This wind up, mechanical Rolling Eye Clock comes from the Oswald Company from the Freiburg area, in Germany's Black Forest. Oswald began production on many versions of these clocks in the early 1920's and ceased production around the 1960's.
The eye on the left side of the clock shows the hour hand and the eye on the right shows the minute hand. This particular piece would need adjustment to run again but definitely has its own unique look at the current time.
Oswald designed many shapes, but the dog-shaped clocks (like this Dachshund) were patented in 1926. They are considered collector items and are widely sought after, world-wide.
Piece from aproximately 1920 - 1940's
Carved wood, wind up, mechanical clock
OSWALD sticker marked on bottom
Body of the clock is in excellent, vintage condition showing minimal age-appropriate wear. Clock does not appear to be working and would need adjustment to be an accurate timepiece. Set time knob is missing and could be replaced at a clock shop. Clock is considered sold "As-is". Please see photos for details and visual reference.
